Which type of stilts best serves You? I compile useful information to help you to make a better decision.
POWERISER - AIR-TREKKERS - POWER STRIDERS - FLYING JUMPERS - CHEAP KNOCKOFFS

I am not trying to make or advertise NEGATIVE things about certain brands but certain components should be under the scam watch.

First and for most some of the companies are making knock offs without giving royalties to the person with the patent (Alexander Bock) and yes, it is illegal to sell them by copying a technology like this in countries that protect patents. This is why you might see some companies come and go within a few months. How can they offer a warranty if they are selling a knock off like this and out of business. Usually they come out with a different brand and keep changing brands before they get caught.

Please beware of clones as they DO EXIST!!!!!
IF YOU ARE QUESTIONING A BRAND AND WANT TO KNOW IF IT IS A CLONE PLEASE ASK AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO FIND OUT. This is not Louis Viitton purses. Or Rolex watches. Knock offs can be dangerous. Buying a knock off is not a way to try to be cheap!

Returns: Beware of buying a used or a returned model. They might look all polished but the bolts can be stripped out and have broken welds that you won't notice as it could be on the verge of breaking with the right weight.

Spring Snapping:
Springs do crack and there can also be knock off replacement springs imported from Malaysia and other third world countries. Most of the reputable brands have zero problems with snapping as it is nearly impossible due to the design structure of them.

Same Company: Different Looks
Beware of companies selling the same stilt under different names and colors. They are pretty good at mimicking the big brands and ripping them off by making you think they are the same or a generic version that is the same quality but without brand names and logos. It might have great engineering but if you see something a third of the price the components are probably wack.

Say NO to springs if you see them too cheap!
It's kind of like buying a protective case for your phone. You can get one off the street for 10 bucks or you can buy a brand name one for 30 bucks. They both look alike. Higher quality manufacturing practices of springs have higher standards for flaws and throw away and keep rates. Its like buying an oven. If you set it to 350 and it goes to 355, some companies will go ahead and put that oven with its less than accurate thermometer on the market. Ultra high end stove companies will reject it.

A pair of jumping stilts that are worthy of buying will last through its life expectancy without anything else than what comes inside its box. Consider it a scam if they suggest to you that you buy certain accessories and do things to your stilts to make them last longer.

Warranties: Make sure you know what is covered in teh warranty. Is it a 6 month warranty that covers only one return or is it unlimited. Will you or they pay for shipping back to them if the issue was a product defect? Can you get your money back if it was there fault. Some companies will say they didn't receive your warranty registration and they know most people don't save receipts or received their stilts as gifts and don't want to go through the hassle of calling the person that gave them to them. It is not cool when they prey on people that they know will get stuck with problems that should be under warranty but they come up with some lame excuse on why their complaint is not valid and they won't cover any of the expense of fixing or replacing them nor the shipping back and forth. It's not like they can't afford it.

Also make sure that the warranty covers not just the original owner whose credit card is on file that bought them. If you call and need to get something serviced and they don't know who you are its gonna be pretty tough. Know about warranty registrations and get it in writing if you can.
